We’re excited to announce a powerful new capability in Catalyst AppSail: Custom runtime support.
Starting today, you can deploy OCI-compliant Docker images directly to AppSail, giving you full flexibility over deployment of your preferred web services.
What AppSail's custom runtime support unlocks
What you get | Why it’s powerful |
Run any stack | Deploy applications in Go, Rust, PHP, Clojure, Deno, Bun, or custom versions of Java, Python, Node.js, and more |
Your environment | Bring your preferred runtime, packages, and dependencies. |
Registry integration | Pull images directly from Docker Hub, Amazon ECR, or GCP Artifact Registry. |
How to deploy your Docker image on AppSail
You can deploy via Catalyst CLI using .tar or .tar.gz formats, or through the console by connecting to remote registries like DockerHub, Amazon ECR, or Google Artifact Registry.
More on how to deploy from container registries
AppSail connects directly with popular registries for seamless deployments:
- Docker Hub: Connect using your username and personal access token, deploy using image name and tags, and manage credentials easily.
- Amazon ECR: Connect using AWS access keys and deploy via ECR image URIs. Edit or remove integrations anytime.
- Google Artifact Registry: Connect using GCP Service Account JSON, deploy via Artifact Registry image paths, and reuse files across projects.
If your Dockerfile already defines the environment and startup command, no additional configuration is needed.
More freedom, more power
- With custom runtime support, AppSail evolves from a platform with predefined runtimes to a fully flexible container execution environment.
- This opens the door to more complex, multi-language, container-centric applications being built and deployed on Catalyst.
Whether you're modernizing legacy systems, experimenting with new web services, or scaling production workloads, AppSail now adapts to your workflow. - Deploying your first custom runtime application takes just a few minutes.
- Choose your favorite container registry, point your Docker image to Catalyst Appsail, and deploy.
